DARE currently conducts four interrelated direct action organizing campaigns:
1. Whose Providence?: A campaign to redefine prevent gentrification and displacement in our communities, through organizing residents against foreclosure evictions, winning community accountability from neighborhood hospitals, and pushing for Comprehensive Plans that include principles for people-centered, community-controlled development.
2. Behind the Walls: DARE’s effort to unite people inside the prison with former inmates and their friends and families to reduce incarceration and reinvest state dollars into positive social programs.
3. Seeds of Change: Creating a Student Rights Board for students and parents to monitor infractions of the Providence public schools’ Disciplinary Code; building youth leadership.
4. Parent Voices: Working with parents to remove language barriers in schools, win processes that respect meaningful parent engagement, and build towards just funding solutions for schools.
